David is a well-seasoned health economist with a PhD in Health Systems Strengthening. Has a wide range of experience in the health sector (15 years) with expertise in Health Systems Management, Monitoring and Evaluation, Costing, Statistical Analysis and Operational Research. Policy and Systems Development Health Care Financing, Health Project Planning and Management, Public finance and National Health Accounts. David has conducted consultancy basis in a number of countries like Kenya, Tanzania (both mainland and Zanzibar), Nigeria, Namibia, Uganda, Seychelles, Swaziland, Somalia and Eritrea. Further, David has attended high level operational meetings to discuss issues of moving the health agenda.
David has strong analytical skills and have interacted with different statistical packages including Advanced Excel for Analysis; Statistical Analysis and electronic data processing; (SPSS, STATA, EpiView, EpiData, Epi Info, QSR, and Cs Pro), ADEPT, National Health Accounts Production Tool (NHA- HPT), Project Planning and Management, Disaster Management, Life- saving, Costing (Spectrum, OneHealth, MBB, RNM, GOALS), Macro Economic Budgeting analysis and Forecasting.
David is an established writer and has authored twenty one (21) publications under the different themes including; Health Systems assessment, Health System Integration, quality of care, Primary Health Care, Universal Health Coverage, health insurance markets, Impact of Covid-19 on health services, Household dynamics in health financing, Increasing Public investments for health, Strengthening resource tracking & Monitoring health expenditures, Economic effects of Inaction, Health sector Planning and budgeting in Kenya.
